It’s time for the final Nannen & Harte Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week of 2022 and we have some excellent representatives. Multiple Arlington Eagles, Fort Calhoun Pioneers and Blair Bears put in deserving efforts, but these are my picks going into the holiday break.

Macy Wolf, Arlington basketball: The freshman Eagles basketball player has burst onto the scene this season and her stat line against Tekamah-Herman was a perfect example of her emergence. She scored a game- and career-high 20 points against the Tigers as AHS improved to 3-2 with their second win of the week.

Ely Olberding, Fort Calhoun wrestling: The 138-pound senior won his bracket at a Logan View tournament on Saturday, topping two top-10 ranked opponents to do it. He edges out his first-place brother for this week’s Athlete of the Week pick after having to win four matches compared to Lance’s three at 132 pounds. I haven’t checked, but I’d imagine the Olberding family is the most prolific in Washington County Athlete of the Week history.

Greyson Kay, Blair basketball: The standout guard produced double-digit points against both of the Bears’ Cougar Classic tournament opponents at Omaha Gross. His 11-point effort in a win against Boys Town included the go-ahead fourth-period bucket and two key free throws in the final seconds.

Happy holidays everyone. Thanks for reading, and tell the family about these athletes’ efforts for me.
