The Blair track and field team competed at the Gary Dubbs Ralston Relays meet Saturday.
The Bears finished fourth in the girls' standings and sixth on the boys' side, combining for 90 points in the relays-based event.
The Gretna boys, meanwhile, won with 104 points. The Fremont girls scored 101 for first, too.
BHS' lone first-place result came in the girls' 640-meter shuttle hurdle race. Schuyler Roewert, Emma Ammon, Jacy Schueth and Haylie Jensen raced back-and-forth over hurdles in front of the Rams' home grandstand, finishing in 1:39.84.
“Oh, it is my favorite race. You can ask my teammates,” Roewert said. “I said it about six or seven times.”
The senior hurdler beamed further with an ear-to-ear smile.
“Out of all the races all season, this is my favorite,” she said. “It's super fun.”
Two more Blair relay teams added second-place finishes, too. The boys' 6,400-meter team — Nolan Slominski, Ted Lueders, Declan McCabe and Dawson Fricke, according to Black Squirrel Timing — finished in 19:04.14.
The 400 shuttle hurdle girls — Schueth, Ammon, Jensen and Ella Donner — were silver medalists in 1:14.89 as well.
Individually, the Bears' Greta Galbraith was second in the pole vault. She cleared 8 feet, 6 inches.
Coach Bryan Soukup's track team next competes 3 p.m. today in a junior varsity meet at Bennington. The varsity next takes the track in Nebraska City on Thursday. Field events there start at 10 a.m.
