One person was injured when an asphalt truck and paving truck collided on 14th and Clay streets in Fort Calhoun Tuesday morning.

The Washington County sheriff's deputies and Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue responded to the accident around 10:45 a.m.

Chief Deputy Kevin Willis said both trucks were facing northbound, when the driver of the asphalt truck went into the turning lane.

Witnesses said the other truck veered over to avoid a trailer and ran into the asphalt truck from behind.

The driver in the asphalt truck was taken to an Omaha hospital for their injuries. The driver of the paving truck refused treatment.

Willis said there weren't substantial injuries to the asphalt truck driver.
