AUG. 3-4 — FORT CALHOUN — K-2 INTRO TO VOLLEYBALL MINI CAMP: Fort Calhoun High School Auxiliary Gym, 6-7 p.m. Free for students entering kindergarten through second grade. Participants will learn volleyball fundamentals through age-appropriate instruction and activities. Advance registration and a signed liability waiver are required. Limited camp T-shirts available while supplies last.
AUG. 4 — BLAIR — NATIONAL NIGHT OUT: Generations Park, 6-8 p.m. Hosted by the Blair Police Department, City of Blair and community partners. Free. Meet local officers and first responders, enjoy safety demonstrations, food, refreshments, games and family activities.
AUG. 5 — BLAIR — BLAIR PUBLIC LIBRARY: Meeting Room 2, 2 p.m. “Life at the Lippincott Farm,” presented by Beverly Simmons.
AUG. 8 — BLAIR — PACK THE PARK: Blair Youth Sports Complex, 6-9 p.m. Reach Outreach's sixth annual Pack the Park will provide free shoes, socks, water bottles and school supplies to local students. Community members can support the event by purchasing a $50 bundle, volunteering, sponsoring or inviting families in need.
AUG. 8 — FORT CALHOUN — BIG RED DINNER: Schwertley Hall, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 215 N. 13th St., 6 p.m. Featuring former Husker football coach Bill Busch and former Husker linebacker and 1995 national champion Terrell Farley. Tickets $30; reserved tables of eight $400. VIP meet-and-greet passes available. Must be 21 or older.
