The Fort Calhoun baseball team took just five innings to dispatch Tekamah-Herman by run rule Monday, 16-2.
The Pioneers reached home five times at home during the first frame and led from there.
FCHS pitcher Alex Christensen struck out seven batters, while Kenny Wellwood struck out three in the win. Christensen was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, too, while Declyn Otte and Sam Genoways plated three runs apiece.
The Pioneers' AJ Duros (two), Chase Bierman and Jefferey Pringle pushed across runs as well as coach Roy Prauner's squad picked up its ninth win of the season. It didn't play its scheduled regular season finale the next day at Falls City due to weather concerns.
FCHS was, however, set to begin postseason baseball Thursday. It was to face West Point-Beemer/GACC first with the Class C-1 District Tournament title game set for today.
