Districts Update: Bears, Pioneers claim state track qualifications

Thirty Blair and Fort Calhoun track and field athletes earned state qualifications Tuesday during Class B District meets.
The Bears earned runner-up honors in both the boys and girls B-4 standings at Albion Boone Central, while the Pioneer girls were fourth and the boys eighth at home during the B-2 competition.
The BHS athletes who made the Bears’ state roster are:
Emma Ammon (high jump)
Ethan Baessler (100-meter dash, 200 dash, 400 relay, 1600 relay)
Reese Beemer (100 dash)
Lainey Bilau (3200 relay)
Chase Cottle (3200 relay)
Allie Czapla (3200 run, 3200 relay)
Hayden Daggett (400 dash, high jump, 400 relay, 1600 relay)

The Fort Calhoun qualifiers are:

Class B state competition begins 9 a.m. May 15 at Omaha Burke Stadium and continues through May 16.
Arlington, meanwhile, has its Class C district competition Thursday in David City. Its state meet begins 9 a.m. May 17.
