Blair golf takes 13th at Wayne Country Club

Easton Chaffee finishes 7th individually

Easton Chaffee notched another top-10 finish Thursday as the Blair boys golf team took 13th at Wayne Country Club.
The consistent lead Bear took 79 strokes over 18 holes for seventh, while coach Ross Udey's team closed with 383 swings total. First-place Columbus Scotus took just 325 shots, while the host Blue Devils' Tanner Walling shot a 2-under 70 for top honors individually.
Chaffee started on the back nine holes, but closed his round with an even score on Nos. 1-9. He shot par on 10 holes overall and birdied the 174-yard No. 8.
BHS' Adam Grote, meanwhile, shot a 91. The senior was 40th out of 86 golfers, sinking three par shots.
Luke Ladwig added 102 strokes for Udey's lineup, while Landen Oppliger shot a 111. The pair were 66th and 76th, respectively.
The Bears were scheduled to play a home triangular Monday before today's tournament at Crooked Creek Golf Course in Lincoln. Play starts at 9 a.m.
