Bears finish 7th at Wayne Invite

The Blair boys golf team got a preview of what district play could be like Thursday as it competed at the Wayne Invitational at Wayne Country Club.

The Bears, which finished seventh at out 17 teams with 361 strokes, will compete May 17 at Wayne in the Class B-2 district.

“(We) played good on our district course. Three had not played there before,” BHS coach Ross Udey said. “Looking forward to districts and seeing if we can get a few strokes better.”

Blair's top finisher sophomore Easton Chaffee tied for 16th with 85, while senior Jake Stirek carded a 90 to finish tied for 29th. Cole Wilkins and Adam Grote each finished with 93 strokes, while Cole Truhlsen had 96.

Blair was scheduled to host a quadrangular Monday at River Wilds Golf Course before traveling to Waverly for an invitational today.
