Bouwman makes C1 2nd team

Fort Calhoun senior Grayson Bouwman headlined Washington County's inclusion on the recently released Omaha World-Herald All-State basketball teams.
The Morningside University recruit earned second-team All-Class C1 honors after scoring 19.5 points per game. He also averaged 4.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists during his final FCHS season.
Five more Pioneers earned C1 honorable mention from the state publication, too. Colby Bentley (11.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game) and Adam Elofson (7.5 points and 3.5 assists) represented the boys, while Raeann Massey (12.8 points and 3.8 rebounds), Ansley Elofson (11.7 points and 7.1 rebounds) and Bria Bench (10.4 points and eight rebounds) represented the girls.
Four Arlington Eagles also claimed Class C1 honorable mention. Trent Koger averaged 15.2 points, 11.3 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per outing, while Emme Timm, Macy Wolf and Britt Nielsen made the girls' list after leading their team to the district finals. Timm averaged 13.3 points, 4.2 points, 4.5 assists and 3.8 steals per game, while Nielsen and Wolf averaged 11.6 and 10.8 points, respectively.
In Class B, Blair's Crayton Macholan, Addie Sullivan, Bo Meier and Kaitlynn O'Neil earned World-Herald honorable mention. Macholan closed out his BHS career with averages of 12.5 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists each night. Meier average 10.7 points and 6.5 rebounds, while Sullivan notched a 10.9 points per game mark. O'Neil scored 5.4 per, too.
Altogether, 14 Washington County student-athletes were recognized by Omaha's state newspaper.
