Two people were transported to medical facilities following an accident on state Highway 133 and Old Post Lane on Thursday.

Washington County sheriff's deputies and Fort Calhoun, Bennington and Irvington rescue teams responded to the scene at around 1 p.m.

According to preliminary information from Sgt. Shane Thallas, a white Acura MDX was traveling northbound on Highway 133 and attempted to turn right onto Old Post Lane. A green Kia Sol, also traveling northbound, rear-ended the Acura as it attempted to turn.

A woman driving the Kia was transported to CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergen Mercy trauma center with non-life threatening injuries. Thallas said the woman was 30 weeks pregnant.

A man driving the Acura was transported to Memorial Community Hospital and Health System in Blair. He also had non-life threatening injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Both vehicles are likely totaled, Thallas said.
