Blair FC finishes up rec season

Blair Football Club (FC) spring recreational teams wrapped up play recently.

According to the soccer organization's website, youth teams played from April through Saturday at the club's fields across the street from Blair High School. There were boys and girls age 8 and younger teams, 6U teams, and 4- and 5-year-old teams competing. Among the creative team mascots were Dinosaurs, Unicorns, Poodles and Pumas.

Summer Soccer Camp registration is now open on BlairFC.com. The 2019 camp, which will take place June 24-28, will be hosted by former FC Director of Coaching Paul Cox, who is now the head women's soccer coach at Briar Cliff University.

10U Cubs split games

The 10U Blair Cubs baseball team split games against the Bennington Blue and Millard United Battle Blue last week.

The Bennington squad topped the Cubs 16-3, despite offensive production from Blair's Andrew Smutny, Nate Murray, Lane Christensen and Tucker Storjohann.

On May 17, however, the Cubs bounced back with a strong win against Millard, 12-11. Devin Larson, Brevin Leggott, Jaxon Logan, Ty Tessendorf, Murray, Christensen and Storjohann led the offense in that win.
