Blair Baseball

Blair's Colin Quick runs to first base after an RBI single swing Monday at Vets Field.

Blair slugger Colin Quick hit at a .449 average and had 20 RBIs, earning a place on the All-Eastern Midlands Conference (EMC) baseball team.

The honors were announced just a day after conference school Bennington won the Class B State Championship. Five Badgers made the EMC first team, while Waverly had four, and both Norris and Gretna had three. Elkhorn and Nebraska City had two all-conference performers, while Blair and Plattsmouth were the only two EMC teams with one.

Quick had 22 hits in just 15 games for the Bears. The junior notched five doubles, two triples and a home run. He also had a 1.94 pitching ERA.

Six Blair baseball players — Jack Nielsen, AJ Bilslend, Grant Rosenbaum, Jason Stewart, Auggie Rasmussen and Dex Larsen — earned conference honorable mention. Nielsen, Bilslend and Rosenbaum were seniors.

Nielsen sported a .423 batting average, while Bilslend notched 16 hits, including a homer. Rosenbuam had a 2.07 ERA.
