Dump truck rollover

County Road 15 was closed between county roads 24 and 26 Friday afternoon just after 3 p.m. due to an overturned dump truck carrying a load of sand. The driver was treated at the scene by Arlington Fire and Rescue personnel for minor injuries.

One person refused treatment after a dump truck rolled Friday on County Road 15, also known as Marshal Nursery road.

According to Chief Deputy Kevin Willis, the driver of a 2007 Freightliner dump truck, identified as Charles Simmons, 28, of Fremont, was northbound on CR 15 when the right front tire went off the east side of the road. Simmons hit the brakes, causing him to lose control. He overcorrected, crossed the road and flipped into the westbound ditch.

Simmons, who was not wearing his seat belt, complained of left upper leg pain. He was treated at the scene by Arlington Fire and Rescue personnel, but refused transport. Damage to the truck was an estimated $9,000.
