A Blair man who wrote and cashed fraudulent checks was sentenced to jail Tuesday in Washington County District Court.
Dillon Dishong, 18, pleaded guilty Oct. 30 to possession of a forged instrument, a Class 4 felony. Several counts were dismissed as part of a plea deal.
Judge John E. Samson sentenced Dishong to 45 days in the Washington County Jail and 13 months probation. He was also ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution to Washington County Bank.
According to an arrest affidavit, Dishong allegedly wrote two $5,000 checks using his great-grandfather's checking account to another individual who cashed them at an Omaha bank and gave the money to Dishong.
