Dodge County Baseball League play began May 19, though both Washington County teams were unable to play due to weather.

Now, though, both Blair and Arlington's town teams have games under their belt this season. The Dawgs have started 0-1, while the Spartans are 2-0.

Dawgs fall to Wombats

After another weather postponement May 23, the Blair town team opened the season Sunday against Wahoo at Vet's Field. The Dawgs lost the contest 14-0.

They were set to host their second home game Thursday before returning 7 p.m. Sunday, June 6, against Arlington.

Blair's league website roster includes Dane Appel, Steve Appel, Derek Botaletto, Mark Clements, Jacob Garder, Ryan Garder, Brad Gentzler, Lance Hansen, Joel Jacobson, Derek Jorgensen, Joe Kuhns, Jaden Livingston, Mills Macek, Blake Minden, Russ Nelsen, Trevor O'Dell, Garrett Pearson, Nate Peleska, Jackson Petersen, Alex Von Seggern and Brandon Wynn.

Arlington routs North Bend

The Arlington town team is off to a 2-0 start in Dodge County Baseball League play.

The Spartans started the season with a rain-shortened 4-2 road win against Yutan on May 23 before routing North Bend 14-0 Sunday at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Against Yutan, T.J. Egbarts had a three-run homer.

Arlington's league website roster includes hometown ballplayers, but also players from the surrounding area. The Spartans are Luke Anderson, Colin Bencker, Caleb Caskey, Todd Cerny, Brennan Clausen, Egbarts, Kaden Hendrix, Josh Hunke, Braden Johnson, Clayton Koch, Cole Schumacher, Brian Snitily, Logan Tate, Andy Theiler, Jack Tillman, Trevor Toebben, Jake Vogt, Eric Dreessen, Grady Hatton, Dillon O'Flaherty and Bob Reynolds.
