Mayor declares Aug. 26 'Paula Hazlewood Day' in Blair

Harriet Waite, executive director of the Blair Area Chamber of Commerce, embraces Paula Hazlewood, former executive director of Gateway Development Corp., at a reception Monday at the South Creek Conference Center honoring her work in Washington County. Hazlewood accepted a position as senior director-business retention and expansion for the Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership. In her 10 years in the position, Hazlewood Hazlewood assisted with the continued growth of the Blair Bio-refinery campus, including Novozymes — a $200 million investment — and expansions for Cargill, NatureWorks and Evonik Industries. Blair Mayor James Realph declared Aug. 26 "Paula Hazlewood Day" in Blair, and he also awarded her a key to the city.
