A Blair woman allegedly stabbed her brother Sunday during an argument over $5, according to police.
Officers arrested Jodi A. Hinton, 18, for second-degree assault, a Class II felony; and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, a Class II felony.
According to an affidavit for an arrest warrant, officers were called to the 2200 block of Davis Drive at 10:29 p.m. for a physical disturbance in progress. When police arrived they found a man trying to aid Andy L. Hinton, 19.
Andy Hinton had blood on his face and shirt. There was also blood covering the kitchen and living room floors, according to the affidavit.
Andy Hinton told officers that his sister, Jodi, became upset at another woman in the house when she refused to give her $5 to purchase a sandwich. Andrew argued with Jodi about her behavior.
Jodi went into Andy's room and began throwing things. Andy attempted to push Jodi out of his room. That's when she grabbed a knife from a nightstand and stabbed Andy in the upper-left side of his back. He ran downstairs and Jodi followed, Andy said.
A witness said he saw Jodi stab Andy. He said Jodi also punched Andy in the face prior to stabbing him.
When officers arrived they found the knife near the stairs. Jodi was on the second floor. Police ordered her to come downstairs, where she was handcuffed.
As she was escorted out of the house, Jodi admitted to stabbing Andy, and she asked officers if he was going to live.
