A 18-year-old Blair man was taken by helicopter to an Omaha hospital from a pickup truck rollover near 19813 CR 26 northwest of Kennard  late Tuesday afternoon.

The Kennard and Arlington Fire and Rescue Units responded to the call about 4:55 p.m. Washington County sheriff's deputy Fred Carritt said the man, who was alone in the vehicle, had been helped by people in the area who came on the scene and knew first aid and were able to help keep him from moving around and keep him talking.

Carritt said the young man, who name had not been released, was semi-conscious and appeared to be suffering from head trauma.

The Ford F150 pickup truck appeared to have crested the hill westbound on the graveled county road as it flattens west of Loree Lane, skidded, got off the edge of the road on the north side, came back on the road and blew two tires on the passenger side before rolling, Carritt said.

The pickup landed facing southeast on CR 26.
