A Blair woman has been arrested after she admitted to stealing and cashing lottery tickets from a gas station, where she was an employee.
Amy Pokorny, 36, is charged with theft by unlawful taking, more than $5,000, a Class 2A felony.
Pokorny appeared Wednesday in Washington County Court. Her bond is set at $20,000 or 10 percent.
An affidavit supporting an arrest warrant was written by Deputy State Sheriff David Schmehl of the Nebraska Department of Revenue.
According to the affidavit, Nebraska instant lottery tickets were reported missing Sept. 12 from inventory at a gas station in the 400 block of South 19th Street.
Surveillance video showed Pokorny taking full packs of tickets and claiming them without paying.
In an interview with the investigator, Pokorny admitted to the scheme of taking the lottery tickets and claiming the winnings without paying.
Schmehl found 36 packs of lottery tickets, worth $10,800, missing. He also found that at least $1,794 in illegally claimed prizes were collected by Pokorny at various lottery retailers around Blair.
