Santa Claus has been busy making his way around the area. He stopped

in Ute on Dec. 1, Charter Oak on Dec. 4, Schleswig on Dec. 7, at the kids Christmas party in Mapleton on Dec. 14 and in Ricketts on Dec. 15.

The Ute Community Club held its Annual Santa Night on Dec. 1. Drawings were held for children’s gifts and gift cards for adults, which were provided by local businesses and individual members of the Community Club. Santa Claus was on hand for the little ones and a soup and sandwich supper was served.

The Charter Oak Commerical Club held its Annual Santa Night on Dec. 4 and Santa Claus was there to hear the wants on everyones list.

The Mapleton Community Center was full of activities during the Kids Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 14. The Mapleton Starspinners had lots of games, crafts for the kids, and a little breakfast. Santa was busy at the party, too, as he posed for photos, found out what was on everyone’s Christmas list, and handed out “goody” bags to the kids.

Ricketts Community Club workers during the Ricketts Santa Day were Ruth Lill, Cindy Smith, Santa, and Durine Briggle. Durine Briggle of Ricketts has organized this Santa Claus day for many years. She gives away books and art, candy, and fruit.
