Eighteen kids attended a week-long theater camp from Aug. 4-8 in Mapleton. The camp was held at new Faith Bible Church. The kids performed “Hotel Hijinks” during the camp. The play was written by Carlina Beem and was directed by Amy Pautsch with help from Karen Jessen and Carlina Beem. On Monday, kids auditioned for parts and read through the play. Along with practicing the play, there were breakout sections where they learned different theater/play techniques. Friday night, the kids held a performance at 7 p.m. This is the second year for the theater camp in Mapleton.
