It looks as if Washington County's tax levy is going to go down a little. Likewise the city of Blair.

Meanwhile in Washington, the obligations for federal domestic spending increased 16 percent in 2009 to $3.2 trillion.

The heavy rains in northwest Iowa and South Dakota have raised the Missouri River water level to flood levels several times this summer. On a recent summer weekend a Blair boater and his friends decided that they would take their boat into one of the tributaries of the big Mo that ran east into Iowa.
