Names of all suspects 18 and over will be published. All suspects should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Blair Police Department
May 20 — 1:10 p.m., 1800 block of Nebraska Street, Officers received a report of people selling magazines. The parties were contacted and told to stop.
May 20 — 4:16 p.m., 1200 block of State Street, Officers investigated a report of a barking dog.
May 20 — 6:52 p.m., 800 block of 19th Street, Officers received a report of a missing juvenile. The juvenile was later located at a friend’s home.
May 20 — 7:15 p.m., 2500 block of 19th Street, Officers spoke with an individual regarding a civil problem.
May 20 — 8:15 p.m., 100 block of Eastgate Drive, Officers recovered lost property which belonged to a person from Columbus. The person was contacted and arrangements were made to return the property.
May 20 — 9:15 p.m., Blair Police Department, Officers met with an individual regarding a child custody dispute.
May 20 — 11:54 p.m., 1100 block of South Street, Officers investigated a noise disturbance.
May 21 — 5:48 a.m., 2500 block of Nebraska Street, Officers received a complaint of criminal mischief.
May 21 — 1:05 p.m., 1600 block of Butler Street, Officers assisted members of the Blair Rescue Squad with a rescue call.
May 21 — 2:35 p.m., 1800 block of Washington Street, Officers received a report of a theft from a business.
May 21 — 3:22 p.m., 14000 block of Nebraska Highway 91, Officers assisted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Blair Rescue Squad with a one-vehicle accident.
May 21 — 5:33 p.m., 1500 block of Colfax Street, John Hammond, 58, of Kennard, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
May 21 — 7:40 p.m., 100 block of 19th Street, Officers assisted a stalled motorist.
May 22 — 1:31 a.m., 1600 block of Front Street, Daniel Shumake, 22, of Blair, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
May 22 — 5:33 a.m., 1200 block of Grant Street, Officers investigated an alarm at a business.
May 22 — 12:38 p.m., 1600 block of Front Street, Officers investigated an alarm at a business.
May 22 — 1:05 p.m., 1400 block of Washington Street, Officers impounded a dog.
May 22 — 3:10 p.m., Blair Police Department, Officers met with a person regarding a child custody dispute.
May 22 — 7 p.m., Washington County Jail, Blair officers assisted deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in handling an unruly inmate.
Washington County Sheriff’s Department
May 7 — 2:32 a.m., U.S. Highway 75 near mile marker 117, Joshua Rempe, 21, of Tekamah, was cited for possession of marijuana. A 17-year-old juvenile from Omaha was also cited for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, a provisional operator’s permit violation and for being a minor in possession of alcohol.
May 8 — 11:25 a.m., Nebraska Highway 133 3 miles south of Blair, A 2000 Buick LeSabre driven by Mary L. Christensen, 64, of Bennington, received $1,250 damage when it collided with a deer.
May 8 — 3:50 p.m., intersection of County Road P51 and Pooh Bear Lane, Mary Thompson, 46, of Omaha, was arrested for driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
May 9 — 3:30 p.m., Eleventh Street in Fort Calhoun, A 2001 Dodge Intrepid driven by LeahJane L. Nelson, 77, of Fort Calhoun, and a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Andrea L. Janecek, 29, of Fort Calhoun, collided. Janecek was cited for backing unsafely and having an expired operator’s license.
May 9 — 8:42 p.m., County Road P33 one-half mile north of County Road P14, A 1987 Ford sport utility vehicle driven by Dana J. Sprau, 16, of Blair, was determined to be a total loss following a one-vehicle accident. Sprau and a passenger were transported by members of the Blair Rescue Squad for injuries they received in the accident.
May 10 — Time and location not given, Steven Tubbs, 19, of Fort Calhoun, was arrested on a Washington County warrant.
May 10 — 3:45 p.m., intersection of Eighth and Elm streets in Arlington, A 1999 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Kelly A. Sund, 16, of rural Fremont, allegedly struck an 8-year-old boy. The boy was not injured other than having a small scrape on his elbow. No citations were issued.
May 12 — 11:59 a.m., intersection of 14th and Washington streets in Fort Calhoun, Anthony Carson, 33, of Blair, was arrested on a Sarpy County warrant.
May 12 — 1:42 a.m., U.S. Highway 30 near mile marker 433, Christopher Unruh, 32, of Mesa, Ariz., was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
May 12 — 9:05 p.m., County Road 28, Aaron Karr, 31, of Arlington, was arrested on Washington County warrant.
May 14 — 7:40 p.m., U.S. Highway 75 3 1/2 miles south of Blair, A 1998 Ford Explorer sport utility vehicle driven by Timothy C. Mann, 36, of Blair, received $1,500 damage when it collided with a deer.
May 14 — 10:58 p.m., intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Nebraska Highway 133, Nicholas Rodgers, 19, of Blair, was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.
May 15 — 12:30 p.m., County Road P51, Ricky Wakefield, 23, address not given, was arrested on a Douglas County warrant. Wakefield was also cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
May 15 — 8:45 p.m., County Road P43 2 1/2 miles west of Fort Calhoun, A 1999 Ford Mustang GT driven by Matthew D. Hartman, 20, address not given, received $3,000 damage in a one-vehicle accident. In the accident, Hartman’s vehicle also struck a fence with damage estimated at $50.
May 16 — 3 p.m., Location not given, Joann Labreck, 57, of Omaha, was arrested on a Washington County warrant.
May 17 — 9:59 a.m., intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and Washington Street in Fort Calhoun, Juanita Cotton, 32, of Omaha, was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.
May 17 — 11:07 p.m., intersection of County Road 51 and P49, Robbie Schenk, 32, of Omaha, was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.
May 18 — 1:57 a.m., intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and County Road P12, Jeffrey Brower, 21, of Omaha, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.
May 18 — 9:21 a.m., intersection of County Road 29 and Dutch Hall Road, Sean Kearney, 31, of Omaha, was cited for illegal dumping.
May 20 — 6:46 a.m., 500 block of Sixth Street in Arlington, Officers investigated a reported disturbance between a mother and a child. All was found to be alright.
May 20 — 2:49 p.m., intersection of Nebraska Highwa 133 and County Road 30, Officers responded to a one-vehicle accident. Gary Smith, 39, of Omaha, was driving a vehicle when the left front tire of the vehicle exploded. The vehicle then struck a guardrail, which caused the vehicle to roll onto its top. Smith and a passenger, Jeffery Denton, 27, of Craig, were transported by members of the Blair Rescue Squad to the Memorial Community Hospital in Blair for injuries they received.
May 20 — 6:30 p.m., 16000 block of County Road P33, Officers took a report of damage to a mailbox.
May 20 — 10:47 p.m., intersection of County Road 38 and Dale Lane, Dale Stork, 45, of Arlington, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
May 21 — 5:06 a.m., U.S. Highway 75 near mile marker 107, Officers took a report of a two-vehicle accident.
May 21 — 1:06 p.m., Wilkinson Manufacturing Company, Officers investigated a reported business alarm. All was found to be in order.
May 21 — 1:44 p.m., 4000 block of West Street in the Lakeland Estates subdivision, Officers investigated a disturbance.
May 21 — 3:20 p.m., intersection of Nebraska Highway 91 and County Road 25, A vehicle driven by Sarah Jensen, 43, of Blair, was damaged in a one-vehicle accident. Jensen was not injured in the accident. No citations were reported.
May 21 — 5:42 p.m., 1500 block of Hartline Lane, Officers recovered a stolen vehicle.
May 22 — 5:30 a.m., Casey’s General Store in Arlington, Officers responded to a business alarm. All was found to be in order.
May 22 — 6:45 p.m., intersection of county roads 41 and 38, Officers responded to the scene of a one-vehicle accident.
May 23 — 5:25 a.m., intersection of County Road 15 and U.S. Highway 30, Officers responded to the scene of a car-deer accident.
