BHS celebrates Pi Day
Pi Day was celebrated in the Blair High School mathematics classrooms.
Several different classroom activities were used to promote mathematics and discuss the different uses of Pi Some of the classrooms enjoyed delicious pie and a variety of creative “Pi Day” desserts. Students also contributed money for the Washington County Food Pantry as part of a community service project. A total of $176 was raised this year.
Each year as a part of the celebration, the Blair High School math department holds a contest to see who can memorize the most digits of Pi. This year's winner was Derek Dibben. He was able to memorize 461 digits.
