Amber Herdt and James Pounds
Amber Christene Herdt and James Aaron Pounds of Blair have announced their engagement.
The bride-to-be, the daughter of Loran and Sue Herdt of Minatare and Michelle Herdt and Larry Faut of Brighton, Colo., is a 2000 graduate of Minatare High School and a 2004 graduate of Metropolitan Community College with a degree in business management. Amber is employed at First Nebraska Educators Credit Union as a member service supervisor/trainer.
The groom-to-be, the son of Jim and Judy Pounds and the late Sandy Pounds of Blair, is a 2000 graduate of Blair High School and a 2004 graduate of Southeast Community College, where he earned degrees in automotive technology and Ford ASSET. James joined the U.S. Navy in 2007 and proudly served his country until 2012. He is employed by Woodhouse Ford as a Ford senior master technician. He is also a member of the Blair Volunteer Fire Department. His grandparents are Ardith and the late James D. Pounds and the late Russ and Nola Kelley of Blair.
The couple will be married Oct. 8 in a private ceremony with friends and family on the Pounds family farm.
